SERVICES: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. OFFICIATING: Rev. Guy Armstrong and Rev. Albert D. Hendershot. VISITATION: 4-8 P.M. Tuesday with one hour prior to service on Wednesday. FINAL RESTING PLACE: Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh, IN. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Jean L. Waltz, 92, of Columbus, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. Jean was born March 4, 1922 to Ray and Anna C. Chandler Weekly. She married Forrest W. Waltz on April 5, 1946. Jean was previously employed in civil service at Camp Atterbury where she did payroll. She was a pianist and organist for many years at Bethel Wesleyan Church and was most recently attended Gnaw Bone Wesleyan Church. She enjoyed flowers and spending time with her family. Survivors include her daughters, Pam (Marvin) Artist of Columbus and Debbie (David) Brown of Columbus; grandchildren, Michelle (Tom) Thomson of Carmel, and Keith Rogers of Terre Haute; and great-grandchildren, Braden Thomson and Drew Thomson. Jean was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Forrest Waltz on April 4, 2005; and a grandson, Chris Rogers.






Pam, I am so sorry to hear of your Mother’s passing. It made me smile to remember when we worked together and they were celebrating a big anniversary and you planned a special party for them, such a sweet daughter. It makes me smile again as I think of them now celebrating in heaven. My prayers and hugs to you and your family.
