Saturday at the funeral home FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery with military honors Robert D. "Bob" Hotz died peacefully on May 13, 2014, at the Hospice Legacy House in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Brownstown, Indiana, April 3, 1931, and died at the age of 83. Bob graduated from Columbus High School in 1949 and attended Indiana Central College in Indianapolis where he played on the golf team. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1954. He married the former Maxie Rae Hinds in 1956. Bob was a plant manager for General Motors Allison Division, retiring in 1993. Following retirement, he assisted at golf courses in both Franklin, Indiana, and Peachtree City, Georgia. After moving to Florida, he worked at Office Depot in Ocala and was an active member of First Christian Church of Ocala where he served as a deacon and trustee. Survivors include Maxie, his wife of 58 years; a son, Mark Hotz of Indianapolis, Indiana; a daughter, Cindy Armour of San Luis Obispo, California; a grandson, Brandon; a granddaughter, Sheria Hyde and her husband Doug; and great-grandchildren, Taja, Kailin and Cooper. He is also survived by one sister, Barbara Harner, and a brother, Dick Hotz, as well as several nieces and nephews.
