SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday April 22, 2014 at St. Bartholomew Roman Catholic Church OFFICIATING CLERGY: Father Doug Marcotte FINAL RESTING PLACE: Inurnment will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 23 at Riverview Cemetery, Section B, in Seymour. VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 8:00 p.m. Monday. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic School or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Joan Marling Belding, 85, of Two Worlds Drive, died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Joan was a graduate of Shields High School in Seymour, Indiana, and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was employed with Bartholomew County Hospital as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and was active in the American Heart Association. She was devoted to her family and liked nothing better than spending time with family and friends. Born in Seymour Jan. 15, 1929, Joan was the daughter of Clyde E. Marling and Carrie A. Beldon Marling. She married James A. Belding Feb. 9, 1952, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. He preceded her in death June 22, 2006. Surviving are sons, Mark (Mary) Belding of Bloomington, IN, Brian (Donna) Belding of Columbus, IN, Thomas Matthew Belding of Houston, TX, Christopher Belding and Samual Belding, both of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Kathryn Conrad, Benjamin Belding, Ashlyn Belding, Alexander Belding, Riley Belding and Ethan Belding; and great-granddaughters, Paige Conrad and Mykah Conrad. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Arnold Marling, R. Hadley Marling and Shirley "Dick" Marling; and sisters, Mary Ellen Vaughn, Sara Lucas and Faery Marling.
