"Max" Wilson, 84, of Columbus, died at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at his home. He was born in Glasgow, Ky., March 11, 1930, the son of the late Amos Edward and Lillie Vaughn Wilson. He married Janetta Rose Mounts Wilson on October 4, 1981, and she preceded him in death on November 7, 2007. Max was the owner of Max Wilson's Plumbing and Heating of Columbus and was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Columbus. He enjoyed watching wrestling, westerns, NASCAR and especially Tony Stewart. He loved his dog Max Harley, his home, working in his yard, hanging family photos and spending time with his family. He is survived by sons, Jerry (Sharon) Wilson of Columbus, Terry (Donna) Wilson of San Antonio, Texas, and Tim (Sheila) Wilson of Columbus; a daughter, Tina (Donald Hamm) Stewart of Columbus; stepsons, Bruce E. (Chabaprai) Hoffman of Scipio, and Ralph Hoffman of Oakland City; stepdaughters, Vickie (Gary) Barkes of Nashville, Veronica (Jerry) Branum of Columbus and Sarah (Tony) Helm of North Vernon; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Sherri Bechelli Wilson of Columbus; a sister, Frances Patrick of Columbus; a brother, Gene (Beverly) Wilson of Columbus; and nieces and nephews. Max was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janetta; a son, Mark A. Wilson; his first wife, Irene Burton Wilson; and two brothers, Herman Edward Wilson and Raymond Wilson.
