Monday at the funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: American Cancer Society or American Heart Association Mayme L. Christian, 88, of East County Road 550N, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014, at her residence. She was born in Rosstown, December 20, 1925, the daughter of the late William and Emma Callam Ross. She married William F. Christian on September 26, 1946, and he preceded her in death on December 7, 2006. Mayme spent 35 years with Girl Scouts of America, and was named woman of the year. She was a cook and waitress for many years at various truck stops and restaurants. She is survived by a son, William F. Christian Jr., of Columbus; a daughter, Barbara (Gregg) Glessner of Evansville, Wis.; a son-in-law, Mark Acton of Columbus; a sister, Josephine Cox of Indianapolis; a granddaughter, Jaime Ann Glessner of Evansville, Wis.; and a grandson, Zachary William Glessner of Evansville, Wis. Mayme was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; a daughter, Marsha D. Christian-Acton; and a brother, Wilbur Ross.
