CELEBRATION OF LARRY'S LIFE: April 19, 2014 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at Salt Creek Golf Resort, Nashville, Indiana MEMORIAL DONATIONS: Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the Bartholomew County Humane Society Lawrence Krister "Larry " Molen Jr., 85, of Terrace Lake Road, died at 2:45 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 in Columbus. Larry graduated from Michigan City Elston high School in 1947. He graduated from Purdue University in 1951 with a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the ROTC. He served in the U.S. Air force from 1951 to 1958. Larry retired from Cummins engine Company in 1996. He enjoyed sailing, golfing, swimming and woodworking. He was an avid reader, as well as a lifetime Notre Dame football fan. He also loved animals. Larry was born July 30, 1928 in South Bend, the son of Lawrence K. Molen Sr. and Bernice C. Budny Molen. He married Carol J. Crump Johns Sept. 5, 1981. Survivors include his wife; sons, Kent D. (Cathy) Molen of Columbus and Troy K. (Wendee) Johns of Henderson, Nevada; a daughter, Pam (Jim) Johns Porter of Port St. Lucie, Fla; grandchildren, Lindsey Jarvis, Patrick Molen, Daryl Molen, Drew Johns, Natalie Johns and Zachary Johns; and great-grandchildren, Kortlin, Keighlin and Kaydin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Corinne Lutz Molen in Sept. 1978; and a sister, Ruth Prohl.

I am so sorry for your loss. Larry was such a good friend for so many years.Good memories and cat stories. My son, Mark, and Kent were buddies at a very young age and went off to Purdue at the same time. I last saw Larry 6 years ago. My last visit to Columbus.
