Glenn Poynter FINAL RESTING PLACE: Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Bartholomew County Humane Society Carolyn Fay Compton, 68, of County Road 930S, died at 3:08 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Carolyn attended Lowell General Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo and watching game shows. Born in Metcalfe County, Ky., Dec. 31, 1944, Carolyn was the daughter of Guthrie Grissom and Ollie Mae Poore Grissom. She is survived by a son, Mike (Jan) Compton, Columbus, IN; a daughter, Missy (Dwight) Jordan, Columbus, IN; a brother, Joe Grissom, Scottsburg, IN; grandchildren, Brittney (Dustin) Davidson, Carolyn (Patrick) Mitchell, Bryan Jordan, Autumn Compton, Shelby Gorbett, Ethan Compton, Shane Wise, Login Compton, David Allen Compton, and Tina Pike; and great-grandchildren, Aiden Ray Davidson, Penelope Rayne Davidson, Lexi Pike, and Waylon Lee Compton. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Davey Compton Jr.; a daughter, Tammy Wise; a brother, Hazel Grissom; and a grandson, Keith Michael Compton.
