Richard Yeaton FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home MEMORIALS: Bartholomew County Humane Society Jessie Mae Lawson Johnson, 86, of 25th Street, died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Jessie retired from Cummins Engine Company and was a member of the Church of Christ. She was made a Kentucky Colonel in 2001 for having served on the 15th District PTSA. Jessie loved her dogs, both named Lilly, and enjoyed playing games, listening to gospel music and traveling. She also loved spending time with her family and attending family gatherings. Born in Columbus Aug. 10, 1927, Jessie was the daughter of William S. Ott and Tressa J. Beeker Ott. Survivors include a son, Michael S. (Edna) Lawson, Franklin, IN; daughters, Carlotta (Gary) Mitchell, Louisville, KY., and Sarah Janell Lawson, Columbus, IN; a brother, Oram Lee Ott, Columbus, IN; sisters, Tressa Jane Hoffman, Columbus, IN, and Carolyn Nell Farris, Sallisaw, OK; grandchildren, Steven (Kayla) Mitchell, Matthew Fields, Mary Lucas, and Shawn Atwood; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, James N. Lawson and Larry L. Johnson; brothers, Robert and John Ott; and a sister, Sarah Elizabeth Carter.
