Cremation is planned. A time of gathering will be from noon until 3 p.m. Nov. 9 at Holton Community Center in Holton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society or the donor's choice of charities. Roy H. Powell, 68, of Imperial Drive, died at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Survivors include his wife, Frances Bradley Demaree Powell; step sons, Greg Demaree, Michael Demaree, and Todd (Julie) Demaree, all of Versailles; a brother, Mark (Gale) Jorgensen, Cleves, Ohio; and two step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Ulmer Powell.

  1. I met Roy in 1956. We were high school friends and later roomed together in college. I was in his wedding to his late first wife, Joan and he was in mine. Roy was a true and loyal friend. I hadn’t seen him in a while but was able to visit with him at his father’s visitation. Rest in peace my friend. Ralph
