Franklin Road Indianapolis, IN OFFICIATING CLERGY: Bill Briley VISITATION: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church FINAL RESTING PLACE: Tipecanoe Memory Gardens Cemetery West Lafayette, IN Michael Wayne Hawkins, 59, of Columbus, died at 7:45 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Michael was a Purdue University graduate and was currently employed with Cummins Engine Company at the Walesboro Plant. He was previously employed as a claims adjuster with Safeco Insurance Company. Michael lived for God and his family before he lived for himself. Born in Lafayette, July 20, 1954, Michael was the son of Russell Paul Hawkins and Edith Lucille Shaw Hawkins. He married Carrol A. Coffey Dec. 8, 1995. Survivors include his wife; sons, Billy C. (Julie) Briley of Boise, ID, Josh M. (Andrea) Briley of Indianapolis, Stephen Alan Hawkins of Columbus and Kendell James Hawkins of Columbus; daughters, Angi B. (Tim) Cooper of Indianapolis, Jennifer BaiLu Hawkins of Greenwood and Victoria JiXue Hawkins of Columbus; and grandchildren, Jordan Bruce, Trenton Briley, Jaydon Gadd and Moses Briley. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stephen Alan Hawkins.
