Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Paul's Improvement Fund. Dorothy Louise Carl, 86, of Jonesville Road, died at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Dorothy was a homemaker and had been employed at Indiana Bell Telephone Company and Camp Atterbury. She was a seamstress and enjoyed any kind of needlework. Born near Jonesville July 31, 1926, Mrs. Carl was the daughter of Otto Welmer and Nora Burbrink Welmer. She married John O. Carl June 9, 1943. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 2009. Survivors include a son, Greg (Karen) Carl of Columbus; a daughter, Sherry (Bob) Bailey of Richmond; grandchildren, Shannon Meyer, Julie (Dan) Schnur, Mandy (Shane) Kleffman, Susan (Brian) White, Doug (Amy) Heavilin and Tony (Karin) Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Mallory, Bailey and Presley Meyer, Dagan, Cami and Drake Kleffman, Brandon and Madelyn Schnur, Elizabeth, Rachel and Jason White, and Alex Bailey. She was anticipating the birth of two additional great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Nora Burbrink Welmer; and her beloved husband of 65 years, John O. Carl.
