SERVICES: Funeral: Will be conducted at noon Saturday at First United Methodist Church, 219 E. Fourth St., Bloomington, with the Rev. Mary W. Cartwright and the Rev. Mark Fenstermacher officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, 3855 25th St., Columbus, IN 47203, and from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday at the church. BURIAL: Will be at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: May be made to Peyton's Angels, C/O I.U.C.U., P.O. Box 368, Bloomington, IN 47402. Memorial donations will be designated to the research of Peyton's illness, (DIPG) Diffused Intrinsic Pontine Glioma. Peyton Ryan Hazeltine Whittington, 5, of East County Road 200S, died at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home. Peyton loved riding the school bus to Rockcreek Elementary School where he attended pre-school. He loved playing t-ball at Ceraland with the Bartholomew County Little League and playing Memory "Matching." He also loved Spiderman and telling jokes and enjoyed many activities with his brother, Stillman, such as crafts and riding four-wheelers. Peyton loved looking at maps and learning about different states. He had a very mature sense of humor for his age. Peyton was born in Bloomington, Jan. 12, 2008, the son of John Whittington and Lynn Marie Hazeltine Whittington. He is survived by his parents, of Columbus; his twin brother, Stillman Neal Hazeltine Whittington, Columbus, IN; grandparents, Kristi Olson and Neal Hazeltine, both of Bloomington, IN, Charles "Shorty" and RoAnne Whittington of Elizabethtown, IN, and Linda Caveness, Marthasville, MO; and great-grandparents, Jo Ann Scott of White City, KS, Dona Hazeltine of Elkhorn, NE, and Charles "Red" Whittington of Columbus, IN. Peyton was looking forward to meeting his baby sister who is due in August.

  20. My heart was so broken seeing news of Peyton’s passing on Peyton’s Angels, that I have been following since it began, by learning of it from my friend Kara. As a twin mom, I this hit me hard and I cried the whole evening after seeing the status. I’ve never met you all, but I feel so impacted by your journey over the last year, and I can share that it has definitely helped me appreciate my girls all the more than I already did. You will be in my prayers during this difficult time. My heart breaks for you all. *HUGS*

I pray for all of you, to feel comfort and some sort of peace during this time of grieving. I pray for Stillman, because his world had change in the blink of an eye.   25. I heard of Peyton through an email. I earnestly pray for God to give you peace. I have a son the same age as yours and I cannot imagine the pain you are feeling.
