Babbs, 74, of Columbus, died at 8:33 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Donna was a member of Columbus Lions Club. She enjoyed playing cards, going on family vacations and spending time with her family. Born in Indianapolis Sept. 21, 1938, Donna was the daughter of Perry L. Daniels and Thelma Arnett Daniels. She married Walter E. Babbs May 3, 1956. He preceded her in death Nov. 17, 2008. Survivors include a son, Mark A. (Anna) Babbs of Bloomington, IN; daughters, Julie A. (Dennis) Michael of Columbus, IN, Karen D. (Mark) Galbraith of Cookeville, TN, and Angela D. (Tim Beeker) Petro of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Joshua (Kelli) Michael, Justin (Darci) Michael, Colby (Ireli) Babbs, Jacob Babbs, Kylie (Randy) Robinson, Megan Petro and Ryan Ranard; and great-grandchildren, Chad Michael, Gracie Michael, Nicholas Babbs, Elisabeth Babbs, and Carter Robinson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Karen: I am so sorry to have heard your mother’s passing. When my father died 20 years ago, one of the local judges grabbed me in the hall of the courthouse and pulled me into his office. He said to me that “the memories that are too hard to think about now, will be a comfort to you as time passes.” It was difficult for me to understand what he was speaking of at the time, but since then, I’ve often thought how true his words were. Again, I am sorry for your loss. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
