Jerry Turner FINAL RESTING PLACE: Garland Brook Cemetery VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS: Petersville United Methodist Church or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Betty Lou Yeley, 85, of East County Road 550N, died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Betty was a lifelong member of Petersville United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and had held numerous offices within the church. She retired from the U.S.D.A. office after 28 years of service. She also was an active member of Indiana Farm Bureau. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening and just plain hard work. Betty had the gift of hospitality for any and all. Born in Bartholomew County Oct. 13, 1927, Betty was the daughter of Glenn T. Harden and Blanche I. Settle Harden. She married Robert F. Yeley Nov. 10, 1946. He preceded her in death April 26, 2012. Survivors include a son, Mike (Wilma) Yeley of Hope, IN; grandchildren, Gina (Mike) McGaha of Hope, Indiana, Jackie (Brian) Arnholt of Columbus, Indiana, Amy (Jeremy) Adams of Hope, Indiana, Rebekah (Johnny) Tedder of Hope, Indiana, Stacy (Robert) Stater of Columbus, Indiana, and Matt (Cheryl) Shireman of Columbus, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Clayton Shireman, Garrett McGaha, Jamie Kate McGaha, Nicole Beeker, Carly Beeker, and Adam Arnholt; brothers, Robert G. (Juanita) Harden of Columbus, IN, and Larry F. (Barb) Harden of Columbus, IN; a son-in-law, Steve Shireman of Columbus, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Harold Schroer; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Harden, She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Terrilyn Shireman, on Dec. 25, 2002; brothers, Max Harden and Jim Harden; and sisters, Imogene McNealy, Pauline Redmon, Isabelle Schroer, Evabelle Zeigler, and Carolyn Luther.

  5. Mike & Wilma, I am so very sorry to hear of Betty Lou’s passing. I was looking in The Republic for my aunt’s obituary and saw Betty Lou’s. When Mom (Mary Zeigler) was in the hospital for the last time, last December, she kept asking me to call Betty Lou and let her know. I know they are together now and I’m sure just talking a blue streak. Our Mothers will both be greatly missed. My love to you both.
