Martha Ellen "Marty" Henry, 86, of 15th Street, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her home. Marty was previously employed at Arvin and Cummins before retiring from AT&T. She was a member of East Columbus United Methodist Church and loved chocolate, reading and spending time with children of all ages. Born in Bartholomew County May 27, 1926, Marty was the daughter of George W. Henderson and Bertha Davis Henderson. She married John Henry Jr. Oct. 11, 1947. He preceded her in death Dec. 10, 1998. Survivors include a son, Kevin Henry, Columbus, IN; daughters, Kathy Henry and Karen (Mark) Parks, all of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Briana (Jose) Vera and Dustin and Emma Parks; great-grandchildren, Mason Henry and Zalen Vera; a stepgreat-grandchild, Layla Vera; and a brother-in-law, D.C. Henry. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Max, Ray and Don Henderson; and sisters, Faye Henderson and Mae Huntsman.

Martha Ellen "Marty" Henry, 86, of 15th Street, died at 5:50 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2012, at her home.

We are so very sorry. Marty was a very sweet and kind lady. Her smile and gentle spirit will be missed.
