FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. BURIAL: Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church or Alzheimer's Association or Premier Hospice of Seymour. Raliegh R. Burns, 84, of Columbus, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in Bartholomew County. Born April 29, 1928, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Ray Burns and Fern Romine Burns. He married Jean Ferguson May 15, 1953. Raliegh was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. He had been employed by Camp Atterbury, Taylorsville School, the state highway garage and retired from Como Plastics in 1990. He loved fishing, gardening and working in his yard. Despite his struggle with polio and later Alzheimer's, he led a full life. Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy (Judy) Burns of Scipio; daughters, Kay (Charles) Scrogham of Seymour and Nancy (Larry) Chandler of Columbus; a brother, Joe Burns of Columbus; sisters, Betty O'Neal of Sanford, Fla., Katie Goff of Panama City, Fla., and Sue Mann of Columbus; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Butler; sisters, Alice Henderson and Ruth Pettay; and a grandson, Shane Hibbs.

Raliegh R. Burns, 84, of Columbus, died at 4:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, in Bartholomew County.
Born April 29, 1928, in Bartholomew County, he was the son of Ray Burns and Fern Romine Burns. He married Jean Ferguson May 15, 1953.
