Linda left this life to join her Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at 7:30 a.m. from Miller's Merry Manor in Hope. She was born on June 10, 1940, in Rushville, to her parents, Richard E. and Mildred Lankford McMillin, who preceded her in death in 1956 and 1990, respectively. Despite her struggles with cerebral palsy, she led an independent and full life. She graduated in 1958 from Mays High School at Mays, Indiana. She retired at the age of 65 after 36 and a half years from the Indiana Department of Revenue in the Indianapolis and Columbus offices. She was a member of East Columbus Christian Church after moving to Columbus with her mother in 1989. She was also a member of the Naomi Circle. She is survived by her brother, Richard Bruce McMillin and sister-in-law, Judy McMillin; and three nieces, Sally (Steve) Binnie, Lisa Brown, and Brooke (Joe) Bell. Also surviving are great-nieces, Jessica Brown, Stephanie and Samantha Binnie; and great-nephews, Hayden and Nicholas Bell. Linda enjoyed her home at Parkside Court Assisted Living for 10 years, participating in the many activities and Bible studies. She also was in the Columbus Women's Bible Study Fellowship for many years. Earlier this year she spent several months at Miller's Merry Manor in Hope because of her declining health, where she enjoyed bingo, crafts and day trips. She especially loved singing in the choirs at church, Parkside and Miller's, and had fun playing dominoes with her family and at Parkside and Miller's. Memorial contributions may be made to East Columbus Christian Church, 3170 Indiana Ave. Columbus, IN, 47201, or the American Cancer Society, 5635 West 96th St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN, 46278.
