SERVICES: FUNERAL: Will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday September 19, 2012 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Collins officiating. VISITATION: Will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday September 18, 2012 and from noon until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Will be at New Harmony Cemetery. Kerry Lee McCarty, 54, of Cardinal Lane, Columbus, died at 10:31 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. Kerry enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising birds and loved spending time with his daughters. He was a truck driver throughout his life and a veteran of the US. Army. Kerry was born Jan. 31, 1958 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the son of Freddie Monroe and Julda Irene Frances Linco Cross. Survivors include daughters, Tonia (Jonathan) Boggs of St. Albans, West Virgina, Elizabeth McCarty and Rebekah McCarty, both of Columbus; brothers, Dwaine Cross of West Virginia and Mark Cross of Columbus; sisters, Janie Walton of Columbus and Roselee Decker of Randleman, N.C.; a grandchild, Jonathan James Boggs and a god-daughter, Sheli Best of Washington. He was preceded in death by his father, Freddie Monroe Cross; and his mother, Julda Irene Frances Linco Cross.
