FUNERAL: Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater and the Rev. Glenn Poynter officiating. VISITATION: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012 and from 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Steve O. Fields, 51, of 7th Street, died at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, at his home. He was born in Bartholomew County, Sept. 21, 1960, the son of Lonnie L. and Ruth F. Williams Fields. He married Lora F. Anderson on June 22, 1991. She survives. Steve was a truck driver and volunteer fireman for Clay Township and Westport Fire Departments. He attended Lowell General Baptist Church and East Columbus Christian Church. He enjoyed fishing, ghost hunting and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by sons, Mark (Kristin) Fields of Columbus, Steve Lee (Janelle) Fields of Columbus, and Tyler J. Fields of Columbus; daughters, Stephanie F. Fields of Somerset, Ky., and Billie Gene (Josh) Tedrow of Columbus; grandchildren, Alexis Tedrow, Brayton Fields, Aydan Fields, Carly Fields, Jenna Bunch, Robert Grissom Jr., and Elijah Lucas; brothers, Franklin Fields of Glasgow, Ky., William Fields of Glasgow, Ky., and Paul Fields of Glasgow, Ky.; and sisters, Becky (Doug) Poindexter of Glasgow, Ky., Teresa Beavers of Columbus, Juanita (Jack) Abernathy of Elizabethtown, and Donita Hoffman of Columbus. Steve was preceded in death by his parents.

  4. I am very sorry to hear of your loss, I only met Steve one time at a fish fry at the new station, My brother Tim worked with him for several years, He is now a captain in Greenwood.   6. Steve was the big brother I never had. and as time goes along and I grow up and I have my own family. Steve became great friends with my husband and they became the greatest fishing buddies ever they both would look foward to every saturday morning and my 8 year daughter would come to feel that she could say uncle Steve. Steve is in the hearts of the Jackson family for ever.

  7. We are sorry to hear of Steves’ passing. Glad we got to spend a little time with him when he visited dad in the hospital. Your in our hearts. We will miss them alot but they are no longer suffering.

To my chidren..Steve Lee & Stephanie & Steve O’s other 3 children Mark,Bille & Tyler..I’m so sorry yall lost your dad..he was a great man..loved by more than we even realized..I know its going to be hard for awhile but just keep thinking of all the good times yall had..all the smiles..all the laughter.I’m so glad he & I remained friends over the years.I love him & will miss him & the way he always picked on me whenever we were around one another. To Lora..If you ever need someone to talk too or someone to just listen give me a call..I know its going to be hard for awhile but God will get you through Rest In peace Big O love you
