Annelene Elkins, of Doup Drive, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at 3:30 p.m. at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Annelene Frazier March 15, 1946, in Letcher County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of Vera Frazier. Annelene loved reading, her dogs, family gatherings and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Whitesburg High School. Annelene married Bobby Elkins in 1962 and moved to Columbus in 1971 to raise her family. She attended Huffer Beauty College and was a hairdresser for many years at Hair Bazaar Beauty Salon. Mrs. Elkins is survived by four daughters, Tammy (Harold) Elkins of Westport, Linda (Steve) Foley of Ogilville, Sherry (Keith) Elkins of Columbus and Lisa (Mike) Goodner of Ogilville; six grandchildren, Skylar and Ben Elkins, Sarah and Alex Nasby, Dalton Foley and Josh Goodner; three great-grandchildren, Gavin and Annalene Elkins and Sophia Beeker; a brother, Gary Frazier of Columbus; a sister, Roxie Sumpter of Gordon, KY; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.

  1. we knew annie from the hair bazzar. our daughter Angie turner worked with her and we know her daughter linda @ dr. koopmans.What a deliteful lady she was.I will always remember her as the little lady with a very big smile & heart !

  3. When we lived next to Ann we were always treated like family our kids called her mamaw ann, there wasn’t anything that we needed she didn’t try to assist with. The world has lost one of the best. Love too all of the family our family is here for you all if we can do anything.

  6. I worked with Ann at Marsh for around 9 years. I called her grannie annie. I also always told her to get her panties out of a bunch. and bought her panties for her birthday one year. we both had a great giggle. I will miss her bunches.

  7. I am so upset! This is Friday the 31st and I just found out about my friend’s passing! I worked with Ann at Marsh for several years! I was the cake decorator. She was such a great asset to the deli team! She was very clean and wanted everything in it’s place! She was so awesome! I loved that in her, because I was so much like that!
