Betty A. Davidson, 84, of North County Road 150 W, died at her home on Sunday, July 22, 2012.
Mrs. Davidson loved quilting, sewing, and scrapbooking. She was a foster grandparent in the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation and Head Start program for seven years and she loved being part of the children's lives.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Rev. Dorsey King officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. Foster Grandparent Program, 1200 Central Ave., Columbus, IN 47201; or the American Cancer Society, 4567 Progress Dr., Columbus, In 47201.
Born in Emmanuel, Kentucky, on April 30, 1928, Mrs. Davidson was the daughter of Ira King and Julia Spurlock King. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Howard Davidson, and Manuel Riley.
She is survived by sons, R.L. Davidson of Columbus, Indiana, Harold (Barbara) Davidson of Ransomville, New York; Ed (Dana) Davidson of Milan, Indiana, Garrett Riley of Columbus, Indiana, Manuel Riley of Miamisburg, Ohio, Tom (Nola) Riley of Milan, Indiana, Bob (Trish) Riley of Milan Indiana, and John (Tonya) Riley of Milan, Indiana; daughters, Hazel (Byrd) Napier of Columbus, Indiana, Phyllis (Larry) Brinkdopke of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nancy (Mickey) Stevens of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Teresa (Justin Kendrick) Holden of Columbus, Indiana; 39 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dorsey (Barbara) King of Lily, Kentucky, and Kenneth (Margaret) King of Oakland, Kentucky; and sisters, Ardella Jones of Barbaraville, Kentucky, and JoAnn Findley of Milford, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a son, Edgar Davidson; a daughter-in-law, Colleen Davidson; a brother, Ferris King; and sisters, Faye Stogsdill, Helen Prewitt and Lydia Hill.

Granny, you were my rock when I needed it. You said you wouldn’t leave until you knew I was going to be ok but the part you didn’t realize is I will never be ok without you here. You understood me when noone else did and never expected me to be anything but myself. I know you are happier and are home now which helps but i will never be able to replace the hole in my heart from losing you.
She was a very good aunt and will be missed.
