Raymond L. Dorsett, 83, of Liberty Lane, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Dorsett formerly owned and operated Dorsett Masonry and Trendition House Paint and Wallpaper. He also had been a Realtor with Ted Craig Realty. He was formerly employed with Dunlap Construction, Taylor Brothers Construction and Force Construction and was past president of Columbus Go Cart Club. He and his wife were antique collectors and dealers. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Church of Columbus or Bartholomew County Humane Society. Arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. Born in Dearborn, Mich., Dec. 24, 1928, Mr. Dorsett was the son of Fred Carl and Vivian K. Kirk Dorestt. He married Charlotte J. Garrity June 25, 1948. Survivors include his wife; a son, Steven R. Dorsett of Noblesville, IN; daughters, Rhonda D. (Craig) Roberts of Noblesville, IN, and Myra Y. (Douglas) Daubenspeck of Noblesville, IN; grandchildren, Casey Dorsett, Megan Dorsett, Carley Sullivan, Claire Sullivan, Derik Daubenspeck, D. Nicole Roberts, Edge Roberts and Emma Roberts; a brother, Donald Dorsett; and sisters, Catherine Rowlan, Phyllis Finecy, Charlotte Barnhart, Christine Gelo and Kay McInteer. He was preceded in death by brothers, Harold, Edward, Robert, Arnold and Wayne Dorsett; and sisters, Mary Thompson, Frieda Watson and Judy Patterson. SERVICES: 1:00 P.M. I am very sry for your loss. I only met Raymond and his wife a couple times. But I am really good friends with his sisters Kay and Chris. I know how hard it is to loose a loved one. Just know that the Lord is with you and will continue to comfort you. Again, I am very sorry for your loss. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
Myra, Doug, Carley, Claire & Derik. We are saddened to hear about the loss of your father/father-in-law/Grandfather. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Christopher was sharing with us how awesome your father was Myra. He really liked him and is also saddened by the news.
