Thomas D. "T.J." Carmer Jr., 52, of Wallace Avenue, died at 1:52 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital emergency room. T.J. graduated from Columbus East High School and Ivy Tech. He was a master carpenter and an office manager. A motorcycle enthusiast, he enjoyed camping, collecting and watching eagles, traveling, woodworking and reading. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. T.J. had two best friends who were more like his brothers, Matt and Abe Skinner. He received great joy from making other people happy. Born in Columbus March 7, 1959, Mr. Carmer was the son of Thomas D. Carmer Sr. and Carolyn Garland. He married Barbara Jane Christian July 9, 2010. Survivors include his father, of Columbus; his mother, of Columbus; his wife; sons, Jason Carmer, Brian (Jaime) Gilbert and Kyle Gilbert, all of Columbus, IN; his stepmother, Judy Carmer of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Kaily Carmer, Lance Carmer, Cole Gilbert and Lake Gilbert; and sisters, Lonett (Michael) Louden, Rachel Waltz and Dianne Waltz, all of Columbus, IN. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lenita Carmer. VISITATION: A time of gathering is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family or the American Heart Association.

Thomas D. ?T.J.? Carmer Jr., 52, of Wallace Avenue, died at 1:52 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, at Columbus Regional Hospital emergency room.
T.J. graduated from Columbus East High School and Ivy Tech. He was a master carpenter and an office manager.

My heartfelt condolence to the T.J Carmer Jr.L Family family. T.J was the Son of Tom,my very close childhood friend of many years ago.
