Mary Pauline Coles, 88, of McClure Road, died at 4:07 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Silver Oaks Health Campus. Mrs. Coles was a retired cafeteria employee with Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. She was a member of CREAK Club and enjoyed camping, reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana. Born in Jennings County May 24, 1923, Mrs. Coles was the daughter of Loren and Vinnie Mary Short Rogers. She married Paul E. Coles Aug. 2, 1942. Survivors include her husband of 69 years; daughters, Jo (Pat) Garrett of Seymour and Mary (Mark) Weichman of Columbus; a son, Steven E. Coles of North Vernon; grandchildren, Suzette Coles of Columbus, Steven G. Coles of Columbus, Mark (Kim) Matney of Sadieville, Ky., Jay (Michelle) Matney of Columbus and Jacob Weichman of Columbus; seven great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and special friends, Donna Jones and Evelyn Brand. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lynn Rogers and Keith Rogers; and a sister, Ruth Rogers. SERVICES: Graveside 11 a.m. Saturday December 3, 2011 Garland Brook Cemetery
