Helen Ann Eckert, 62, of Road 300E, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at her home. Helen was a member of Lakeview Church of Christ and was strong in her faith. She loved flowers and landscaping, doll collecting and teddy bears. Born in Tompkinsville, Ky., Dec. 19, 1948, Mrs. Eckert was the daughter of Clarence and Pearl Eckel Biles. She married Calvin Ray Eckert Aug. 4, 1972. Survivors include her husband; a son, David Eckert of Columbus; brothers, Clarence Earl (Bonnell) Biles of Columbus and Windell Biles of North Vernon; and sisters, Joan (Russell) Cherry of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Gayle (Joe) Reeves of Carthage, Tenn., and Betty Sue Biles of Lafayette, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Kenneth Eugene Biles. SERVICES: FUNERAL - will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Rich Gant officiating. CALLING - will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and one hour prior to the service Friday. BURIAL - will be at New Harmony Cemetery. MEMORIALS - may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
