Frances Hey Linsmith, 96, of Fishers, Indiana, formerly of Columbus, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2011. She was born in Shelbyville, Indiana, on July 28, 1915, to Martin and Louise Adam Hey. She married Norval W. Linsmith on July 19, 1941. He preceded her in death September 26, 1972. She is survived by her daughter, Lou Ann Linsmith Tabor of Indianapolis, IN; her granddaughters, Heather Preusse (Stephen) of Boca Raton, FL, and Anne Miller (Matthew) of Carmel, IN; a grandson, G. Scott Tabor (Samantha) of Cincinnati OH; great-grandchildren, Madeline Preusse, Evan Preusse, Wilson Miller and a new Great-Grandson due any moment; and a sister, Virginia Pherigo, of Shelbyville, IN. Also preceding her in death were her brother, Gilbert Hey, and sister, Catherine Keppel. Mrs. Linsmith was a graduate of Shelbyville High School in 1933 and Indiana Business College in 1935. During her lifetime, she was first employed as a secretary for Reeves Pulley Co. and later by the Bartholomew County Treasurer's Office and Highway Department, Bartholomew County Commissioners, the Indiana State Highway Department, and retired in 1980 as Assistant Office Manager for the Columbus City Utilities. She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Victory Workers Sunday School class, a 50-year member of Columbus Extension Homemakers Club, Past President and Woman of the Year of American Business Women's Association, and a member of the Bartholomew County Democratic Ladies League. She dearly loved her family and the many activities at her assisted living. Her family wishes to thank the staff at the Hearth at Windermere for their love and care of Frances. SERVICES: FUNERAL - will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana. VISITATION - Friends may call there from 10 a.m. until the time of service. BURIAL - will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. MEMORIALS - In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, 521 Fifth Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
