Curtis Rex Edwards, 77, of Indiana Court, died at 5:10 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2011 at his home. He was born in Metcalf County, Kentucky, December 12, 1933, the son of William Elmer and Gladys Blades Edwards. He married Nell Gilbert September 11, 1999. She survives. Rex was employed at Cosco for 19 years and then by Lewellen's Manufacturing for 15 years. He is survived by a son, Gary (Angie) Edwards of Scipio; daughters, Kathi (Greg) Osborn of Sheridan, Patti (Bill) Knapp of Columbus, Zola Christian of Columbus, Kathy (Ron) Hubbard of Columbus, Marcia (Dave) Murphy of Columbus, Lee (Jim) Sidwell of Columbus, Sue (Mark) Franklin of Columbus, Barbara (T.J.) Carmer of Columbus and Michele Comstock of Columbus; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brothers, Andy Edwards of Columbus, Jimmy Edwards of Columbus, Jack Edwards of Waynestown and Leroy Edwards of Grammer; sisters, Judy Perkins of Louisville, Kentucky and Janet Holstiler of Goshen. Rex was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Childers; brothers, Buddy Edwards and Phillip Edwards; and sisters, Donna Barker and Faye Harvey. SERVICES: FUNERAL - will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Ballard officiating. BURIAL - will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. CALLING - will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. MEMORIALS - may be made to the donor's choice of charities.
