Paul Stephen Steve' Rouse, 64 JAN. 19, 1947 AUG. 27, 2011 Steve Rouse fell asleep on Saturday, August 27, 2011, and is awaiting the return of Jesus Christ for his Church, I Corinthians 15:51-54, 57 and 58. Born on January 19, 1947, in Los Angeles, California to Paul L. Rouse and Vera L. Rouse, Steve spent his childhood here in Bloomington. He graduated from University High School in 1965, and went on to attend Indiana University, and then technical school in Florida. The education he received there led him to Colorado Springs, Colorado, and later to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he directed TV news, and worked in many other aspects of video and TV production. Steve worked as a video producer for Sunrise Video West for many years, and produced numerous TV commercials for major auto client GMC. He most recently worked for Comcast in Denver, Colorado. Steve returned to Bloomington in 1989. It was at this time he became involved in volunteer radio by hosting 2 shows on WFHB, including the bluegrass themed "Rural Routes" on Saturday afternoons. Steve became an avid bluegrass fan during those years, and attended many festivals and performances. He was asked to introduce Mr. Bill Monroe and his band at Bean Blossom, which he always considered a highlight during his time at the radio station. Steve returned again to the West he loved so much, and eventually settled in Morrison, Colorado, and enjoyed many years there. He was always glad for family and friends to visit, proudly showing off the beautiful area he lived in. He returned to Bloomington 2 years ago. Steve was a Christian who loved God and his Word, and fellowshipped with Christian Family Fellowship. His favorite things were his computer, listening to all types of music, watching movies, and the beautiful West. Steve was a kind and gentle soul, artistic and talented, and had a wonderful wit. Steve will be sadly missed by his son Zach and granddaughter Elizabeth Zoe, his sister Elizabeth Tieman, her husband Joel and children Shaun (Jenna) and Elysia, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, Zach's mom Zoe Walrand, former wife Vicki Witham, his fellow Christian believers and many friends. He was preceded in death by his father Paul L. Rouse and mother Vera L. Rouse. The family will hold a memorial gathering which will be announced in the coming weeks. Steve we love you, and we will all be rejoicing together someday!!
