Dorothy Mae Hamilton, 81, of 19th Street, died at 3 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. A member of First Christian Church, Mrs. Hamilton was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts. She was a NASCAR fan and an especially huge fan of Tony Stewart. Born Feb. 12, 1930 in Mitchell, IN, Mrs. Hamilton was the daughter of Lester and Thelma (Jenkins) Terry. She married Walter Eugene Hamilton on April 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 10, 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Connie Sue (Veston) Roberts of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Adams of Seymour, Joe Clark and April (Dan) Cohen, both of Columbus, and Tony (Alice) Roberts of Geneva, New York; a sister, Patricia Jones of Martinsville, IN; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Michael Eugene Hamilton; a brother, Harry "Bud" Terry; and sisters, Eva Kellams, Joan Green and Linda Clipp. SERVICES: FUNERAL - services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Al White officiating. CALLING - will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday. BURIAL - will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

  1. Connie, I am so sorry for your lose. Aunt Dorothy was a very loving person and she always made sure that everyone around her was comfortable and well taken care of. She will be missed deeply.
