Richard L. "Dickie" Collins, 51, of Indianapolis, formerly of Columbus, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Richard was born February 19, 1960, in Columbus and was the son of the late Richard Collins and Pansy Hubbard Collins. He is survived by his sons, Aaron Collins and Justin Perry Collins; grandchildren, Christian and Chloe Collins; a daughter-in-law, Aimee Vinson Collins; his ex-wife, Tammy Garland Collins, all of Columbus; brothers, Michael (Ruby) Collins and Shawn Collins; sisters, Hattie McKay and Margaret Taylor, all of Indianapolis; and a sister, Inez Traylor of Columbus. He is also survived by several nephews, a niece, many great-nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends who have stood by him over the years. Richard had been employed in the past as a construction worker specializing in framing work, but had not been able to work in recent years. He loved NASCAR, basketball and football games, wrestling, cooking, barbecues and spending time with family and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE: Will be held at Tuesday July 19 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to share all their memories of Richard at this time. VISITATION: Calling hours with be on Tuesday July 19, 2011 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Jewell-Rittman Funeral Home, 3855 25th Street, Columbus.   2. i am so blessed that i got to be a part of the family for so many years, not having my own near by dickie and his family took me in as one of their own….no matter how much time would pass dickie always embraced me with a big hug and a “hey girl”..lol…i love ya so much and you will always be in my memories….

  3. I knew Dickie since I was a little baby and I loved him ever since the day I met him. He was a uncle to me and a best friend. I remember all the good days that he was with my dad(his best friend)and my family. He will be missed dearly but NEVER FORGOTTEN. RIP Richard L. Collins AKA Dickie. Love and Miss you

Dickie its been a long time since we have seen each other but even at that you have always been good to me thats how you was. a good man you will be missed we are all getting to that age where we need to slow down and just love each other and to Hattie you know I love a care about you and the girls always have my hart goes out to you and your family we will all meet some day until that day love KENNY.
