Lois M. Baldwin, 75, of Tyler Drive, died at 5:22 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana. Mrs. Baldwin and her husband sang at churches, nursing homes and in people's home for 22 years before her health started to fail. She was of the Holiness faith. She was an excellent cook, homemaker and companion. Born in Westport Feb. 16, 1936, Mrs. Baldwin was the daughter of Arthur and Thelma Grimes Burkman. She married Paul F. Baldwin Feb. 4, 1978. Survivors include her husband; stepsons, Larry (Mary) Baldwin of Columbus, IN, and Wayne (Debbie) Baldwin of Montezuma, IN; stepdaughters, Debbie (Donald) Grider of Shelbyville, IN, Cheryl (Michael) Corder of Elizabethtown, IN, and Jane (Fred) States of Columbus, IN; sisters, Ruth Pierson of Greensburg, IN, and Judy Hoover of Lebanon, IN; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her stepmother, Ethel Jolly Burkman; brothers, Leslie William Burkman and Elvin Franklin Burkman; a sister, Bessie Beulah Allee; and a great-grandson, Andrew Hooker. FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Burt Mize and the Rev. Robert Baldwin officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be at Rodney Separate Baptist Church Cemetery in Westport. MEMORIAL DONATIONS: Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
