Linda S. Powell July 13, 1951 - February 13, 2011 Linda S. Turner Powell, 59, of Scipio, went home to be with the Lord at 2:32 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, 2011, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Linda loved crafting and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed going to yard sales and San Souci with her granddaughter, Lindsey. She also enjoyed gospel music and old TV westerns. Linda was a caregiver throughout her life, most recently with her mother, Alice, while she was ill. She loved listening to her son sing and play music. Linda will be greatly missed by her family. Born in Johnson County July 13, 1951, Mrs. Powell was the daughter of William O. Turner and Alice M. Bisel Turner. She is survived by her father and stepmother, William and Marjorie Turner of Scipio; her husband, Everett Powell; a son, Jim (Lori) Turner of Columbus, IN; grandchildren, Dustin, Brandi, Melinda, Allison and Lindsey Turner and Deidree RedLeaf; great-grandchildren, Kenton Newell, and two more expected in the fall; a brother, Orville D. (Brenda Lee) Turner of Pennsylvania; sisters, Anna C. (Don) Lucas of Elizabethtown, IN, and Brenda L. (Russell) Abney of Jeffersonville, IN; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral Information CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011, and from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday. FUNERAL: 10 a.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the funeral home with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
