Lola Maxine Padgett March 16, 1928 - July 22, 2010 Lola Maxine Max Padgett, 82, a resident of the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin, died there at 4:10 a.m. Thursday, July 22, 2010. Mrs. Padgett graduated from Jackson High School in Decatur County in 1946. She retired from Central Dispatch in 1997 and then worked as a foster grandparent at Children Inc. She was a member of Waynesburg Christian Church and Hartsville Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years. Mrs. Padgett had lived at the Indiana Masonic Home for seven years due to Alzheimers. Her family appreciates the remarkable and loving care she was given during that time. Born in Decatur County March 16, 1928, Mrs. Padgett was the daughter of Roscoe and Vern Van-Scyoc Evans. She is survived by sons, David E. Best of Hartsville and Dale E. Best of Greensburg; a daughter, Sharon Padgett of Westport; grandchildren, Scott, Monty, Jon and Tammy Best; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kiley, Oakley, Owen and Zachary Best; nieces, Sheryl Stott Galbreath of Bloomington, IL, Dana Stott Beyer of Columbus and Dr. Marva Evans of Bonita, CA; a nephew, B. Christopher Stott of Columbus; a sister, Carolyn (Bennie) Stott of Columbus; and a sister-in-law, Rachael Evans of Bonita, CA. She was preceded in death by a brother, William M. Evans; a daughter-in-law, Beverly Best; and a grandson, Joshua Best. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. David Burnett officiating. CALLING: 11 a.m. until service time Monday and an Eastern Star memorial service will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
