Laura B. Maurer June 09, 1922 - July 20, 2010 Laura B. Maurer, 88, a resident of Millers Merry Manor at Hope, died there at 5:05 a.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010. The oldest of 18 children, Mrs. Maurer was born in Mount Sterling, KY, and moved to Ohio in 1930. In 1932 she moved to Scipio and attended school in Jennings County. She married in 1940 and retired from North Side Drugstore in 1985. Her hobbies included sewing, housework and flowers. Born June 9, 1922, Mrs. Maurer was the daughter of Ollie and Martha Willoughby Kissick. She married Lewis W. Maurer in August 1940. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Lewis R. Maurer of Columbus; a daughter, Patricia J. Mize of Seymour; grandchildren, Theresa Davis, Tracy Seals, Todd Maurer, Rhonda Quellhorst and Sherri Lay; great-grandchildren, John Foreman, Jacob Foreman, Sarah Seals, Joshua Seals, Zachary Seals, Rachael Maurer, Lydia Maurer, Jace Quellhorst and Ryan Lay; great-great-grandchildren, Elixia and Michael Foreman; brothers, Dale Kissick of Florida, Dave Kissick of Indianapolis and Harrison Kissick of Muncie; and sisters, Hope Helm of Seymour, Bonnie Kissick of California, Waunita Kissick of Indiana, Stela Dodd of Indianapolis and Crilla Dee Lynch of Georgia. She was preceded in death by a son, Albert Maurer; brothers, Burt and Bill Kissick, Ollie Gary and Marshall Kissick; and sisters, Helen Kissick, Margaret Wilkerson, Louise Cooksey, Peggy Knight and Sally Griffin.
