Roy H. Bowling July 08, 1924 - June 30, 2010 Roy Herbert Herb Bowling, 85, of Reeveston Drive, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Bowling recently moved to Columbus from Warsaw, IN, where he and his wife Betty had resided for 30 years. He was a retired foundry supervisor and manager and spent many years working for Explorer Van Company. He was a hard working man, often working two and three jobs to support his family, and worked until the age of 80. Herb was a good and Godly man who loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He left a great legacy for his family to follow. He was a friend to many. He attended Flintwood Wesleyan Church and had been a member of Marion First Church of the Nazarene for more than 50 years. Born in Carter County, Ky., July 8, 1924, Mr. Bowling was the son of John Will and Rebecca Sloan Bowling. He married Betty Williams June 12, 1943. They recently celebrated their 67th anniversary. Other survivors include a son, Ed (Patty) Bowling of High Point, NC; daughters, Sondra (Jim) McKeever of Logansport, IN, Linda (Greg) Lyle of Paris, KY, and Teri (Wes) Jones of Columbus; grandchildren, Amy (Barrie) Baker of Paris, KY, Eric (Jennifer) Duncan of Lexington, KY, Scot (Lisa) Lindsey of Powell, OH, Amanda (Tony) Zurwell of Greenfield, IN, Nathan, Nick and Maddie Bowling of High Point, NC, Taylor and Christopher Jones of Columbus; and great-grandparents, Blake and Hayden Baker, Alex, Mason and Miller Duncan, Parker, Jordan and Lauren Lindsey and Grayson Zurwell. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack, Jim, Mark and Kim Bowling; and a great-grandson, Brandon Scot Harvey. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday at Flintwood Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery. FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Saturday at Flintwood Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Wes Jones officiating.
CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. today at the church and from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
