Philmore Fields January 23, 1941 - May 22, 2010 Philmore Fields, 69, of Seymour, died at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Kindred Hospital in Greenwood. Mr. Fields was born in Edmonton, Ky. on Jan. 23, 1941, the son of Leonard Thomas and Dora Becky Fields. He married Carolyn Fields on September 4, 1962 and she survives. He was employed with Cummins Engine Company for 35 years. He was a member of the Diesel Workers Union and enjoyed dirt track racing. He raced for a few years himself. He also enjoyed NASCAR. When Mr. Fields was younger, he enjoyed playing his guitar and singing with his family. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He and his wife, Carolyn, had celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary last September. In addition to his wife, Mr. Fields is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Donny Ballard) Fields of Columbus, Jennifer (Raymond) Anderson of North Vernon, Janet (Marvin Townsend) Fields of Seymour and Sandra (Tony) Dover of Columbus; a brother, Louis Edward (Oni) Fields of Horse Cave, Ky.; grandchildren, Jeremy (Robin) Ogle, Robert (Nicole) White, Phillip Fields, Casey (John Wagner) White, James (Patricia Fields) Ogle, Marie Whitis and Tony Dover II; seven great-grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a great-grandchild, Cayden Fields-Ogle; three brothers; and a sister. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Myers officiating. VISITATION: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
