Velma E. Arnold February 08, 1925 - April 16, 2010 Velma E. Arnold, 85, of Timbercrest Drive, went to be with the Lord at 4:30 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mrs. Arnold was born in Decatur County Feb. 8, 1925, the daughter of Walter F. and Ica Mae (Wolfe) Cook. On June 5, 1943, she married William E. Arnold, who preceded her in death Feb. 9, 1968. She was a member of the Community Church of Columbus and of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed reading and racing. One of Velmas greatest joys was caring for her children. Mrs. Arnold is survived by her sons, Stephen (Donna) Arnold of Seymour and Kevin (Angie) Arnold of Franklin; a daughter, Sharon Blair of Columbus; grandchildren, Stacey Gross, Kelly Bledsoe, Bill Blair, Shawn Arnold, Jason Arnold, Amanda Rogers, Lauren Arnold and Logan Arnold; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers, Lloyd and Frank Cook; and sister, Evelyn Platt. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral home with Pastor Chuck Coleman officiating. VISITATION: 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
