Charles W. "Bill" Manning June 23, 1933 - March 30, 2010 Charles W. Bill Manning, 76, of Westport, died 8:59 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at his home. Bill owned Mannings Junk Yard for the majority of his life. He then became a dairy farmer until he retired. Bill loved animals and working on old cars. He had a great love for his family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. Born June 23, 1933 in Rush County, Bill was the son of James E. and Alma Mae Woods Manning. Survivors include sons, Charles (Maria) Manning of Batesville, Roger (Shirley) Manning of Tennessee and Chuck Manning of Alabama; a daughter, Amy (Jesse) Moody of Greensburg; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren brothers, Bobby (Connie) Manning of Columbus and Larry (Dorothy) Miller of Jennings County; sisters, Robin (Dale) Everhart of Hanover and Jo Ann Manning of Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Alice Manning; daughters, Dorothy Marie Manning and Roxanne Manning; a brother, Roy Edward Manning and a sister, Nancy Miller. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1 p.m. Friday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Orville Turner officiating. CALLING: 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from noon until service time Friday.
