Morris George Turner September 01, 1922 - February 19, 2010 Morris George Turner, 87, of Oakbrook Drive, died at 10:40 a.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2010, at his home. Mr. Turner was born in Bartholomew County September 1, 1922, the son of Charles and Opal Kennedy Turner. After retiring from Cummins Engine Company in 1977, with 37 years of service, Morris founded Turners Machining Specialties; which he owned and operated for 30 years. He was an avid fisherman, sang with barbershop quartets and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Mr. Turner is survived by his former wife, Audrey Mae Parker; sons, Bruce (Jane) Turner of Columbus, Barry (Donna) Turner of Columbus, and Curt (Traci) of Nashville, Tenn.; daughters, Joyce (John) Long of Trafalger and Sandra (Paul) Brenda of LaPorte; brothers, Ronald Allison (Viola) Turner of Tennessee and Weldon Lee (Lona) Turner of Indianapolis, and also 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Spike Turner, Roy Bud Turner, and Harry Pete Turner; and sisters, Floris Toots" DeBronyi, and Lavonna Jean Scott. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2010 at St. Peters Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Teike officiating. VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010 at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. BURIAL: Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery with military rites by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Donations Information MEMORIALS: Hospice of South Central Indiana.
