Bessie E. Hillenburg-Brown November 29, 1936 - October 17, 2009 Bessie E. Hillenburg-Brown, 72, of Columbus, Ind., died at 12:00 a.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center. Bessie retired from Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center and was previously employed at Elder Beerman and Four Seasons Retirement Community. She was a member of Rocky Ford Free Methodist Church and also attended Parkside Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was born Nov. 29, 1936, at Ellettsville, Ind., the daughter of Emmert Hillenburg and Carol Miller-Brooks. Survivors include sons, Levi (Paula) Brown of Columbus, Ind. and Alan (Trish) Brown of Hope, Ind.; daughters, Carol (Carl) Lucas of Elizabethtown, Ind. and Penny (John) Goodin of Columbus, Ind.; a stepson, David (Shireman) Brown of Columbus, Ind.; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and companion, Clarence Todd Oliver. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Dewey Hillenburg and George Hillenburg; a sister, Betty McCarten; and one grandchild. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Buterbaugh officiating.
