Margaret M. Watson February 21, 1925 - October 15, 2009 Passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus. She was born in St Joseph, Missouri on February 21, 1925, the daughter of Edward Joseph and Mabel Rowland Massard. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University, in Athens, Ohio in 1946. She graduated from the Saint Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio in 1949 and received a Master of Science in Nursing from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio in 1955. She married Franklin Lloyd Watson in the First Congregational Church in Wellington, Ohio on September 18, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2005. A dedicated educator, Margaret taught at the Bartholomew County Hospital Licensed Practical Nursing School and then IVY Tech, retiring in 1990 as the Department Chair Person for the LPN Program there. She took great pride in the accomplishments of her students. She was a charter member of the Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. Margaret had served as a member of the Senior Center Board of Directors and had been actively involved in the health screening program there for fifteen years. She served on the Board of Directors for Just Friends. She is survived by her son, John Franklin Watson and his wife Patricia, of Columbus; a son-in-law, James Parker of Billings, MT and five grandchildren Mackenzie Parker of Boston, MA; Kristen Watson of Franklin, IN; Alexander Parker and Joseph Parker of Billings, MT; Bryan Watson of Columbus, IN and a brother, Dr. James M. Massard of Hersey, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter Margaret Beth (James) Parker and a granddaughter Stacey Marie Watson. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Fairlawn Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Ann B. Haw officiating. VISITATION: 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from noon until service time on Monday at the church. BURIAL: Garland Brook Cemetery.
