Gerald Bruce "Jerry" Enochs September 24, 2009 Gerald Bruce Jerry Enochs, 53, of Elizabethtown, died at 1:14 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2009, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Mr. Enochs was a former Veterans Service Officer for Bartholomew County and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard. He enjoyed acting in local theater productions and loved animals. A jack-of-all-trades, he worked as a carpenter, plumber and electrician as well as on cars and masonry. When he put his mind to learning something, Jerry learned it. He loved his family, especially being Papaw Jerry. Born in Columbus Nov. 30, 1955, Mr. Enochs was the son of Robert Gene and Betty Jean Enochs. He married Judy Burris Nov. 30, 1994. Survivors include his wife; his parents, of Columbus; sons, Ronald Dean (Kathryn) Dykes of Columbus and Christopher Lee (Kay) Dykes of Fort Campbell, Ky.; a daughter, Dawn Renee (Cory) Mullis of Elizabethtown; a brother, Don Enochs of Columbus; sisters, Pat Enochs of Miami, Fla., Susan (Daryl) Wetherald of Columbus, Lyndle (William) Arledge of Louisville, Ky., and Diane (Mike) Clancy of Columbus; grandchildren, LaKeshia Dawn Millis, Cory Mullis Jr., Christopher Dean Dykes, Kelsie Reane Dykes, Michael Jacob Dykes and Hailey Grace Dykes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Dean Dykes. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home. A Military Service will be conducted by the Bartholomew County Veteran's Color Guard. VISITATION: Will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday. Donations Information Memorial contributions may be made to Bartholomew County Humane Society or Disabled American Veterans.
