Marcus W. "Eugene" DeBell August 24, 1932 - July 17, 2009 Marcus Eugene Wilson DeBell was born to Cloud Sr. and Hallie Wilson DeBell, on August 24, 1932. He went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2009, 6:10 p.m., with his wife and family by his side. Eugene served in the Air Force during the Korean War, and then came home to work and retired from Cummins Engine Company after 30 years of service. He participated as a scout leader in Boy Scouts of America and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Who So Ever Will Community Church. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Sue DeBell. Other survivors include his children; daughter Syndy (Randy) Perkins; son Marc DeBell; daughter Hallie (Robbie) Amos; stepdaughter Teresa (Chris) Meredith; stepson Doyle (Erika) Swanson; grandchildren: Amy Jorgensen; Casey Ashton; Caitlyn Douglas; Step grandchildren: Joshua, Taylor, Justin, and Sarah Meredith, and Jacob and Zachary Swanson. Additional survivors include brothers Jerry DeBell of Alabama, and Beverly DeBell, Manlis DeBell, and Richard DeBell all of Kentucky. Eugene was preceded in death by his father Cloud B DeBell, Sr, mother Hallie W. DeBell, brothers Marvin DeBell, Woodrow DeBell, Cloud B. DeBell, Jr., and Samuel DeBell, and sister Elsie Anderson. Funeral Information FUNERAL: 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at the Who So Ever Will Community Church in Edinburgh with Rev. Lewis Burton officiating. VISITATION: 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday at the church. BURIAL: Rest Haven Cemetery with military rites by the Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard. Donations Information MEMORIALS: Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or to the Who So Ever Will Community Church, to be used for the Edinburgh Youth Center or Veterans Administration.
