Rhonda Hartog Clare August 29, 1958 - June 27, 2009 Rhonda Hartog Clare, 50, of Rochester, Minn., formerly of Columbus, died at 2 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Clare served in the U.S. Air Force from 1984 to 1990, attaining the rank of sergeant. After training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, she served at Grissom Air Force Base where she was a crew chief on the KC135 tanker. She transferred to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, where she worked on the KC135 ARIA aircraft. She served on the Wright Patterson honor guard team and was the 1987 recipient of the John Levitow Award. She attended Purdue University, Indiana University at Kokomo, Louisiana State University of Shreveport and Wright State University in Fairborn, Ohio where she was a member of the ROTC. She was a disabled veteran, a member of Beavercreek Church of the Nazarene, an avid reader and loved to experiment in the kitchen. Born in Seymour Aug. 29, 1958, Mrs. Clare was the daughter of Larry and Lois McKain Hartog. She married Fred W. Clare Oct. 17, 1987 in Beavercreek, Ohio. Survivors include her husband; her parents, of Columbus; a daughter, Caitlin Beth Clare of Beavercreek, Ohio; an adopted daughter, Dorothy Counter of Fort Knox, Ky.; a brother, Greg (Traci) Hartog of Columbus; and a nephew, Cameron Hartog of Columbus. Funeral Information VISITATION: Thursday, July 2, 2009 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. FUNERAL: Friday, July 3, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Buterbaugh officiating.
