Lavera D. "Donnie" Ackenback April 23, 1938 - June 24, 2009 LaVera Dawn Donnie Ackenback, 71, of Central Avenue died at 7 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Ackenback was a 1956 graduate of Shields High School in Seymour and retired from The Republic after 25 years of service. She attended Calvary Church of the Nazarene and loved reading, gardening and visiting the ocean. Born in Seymour April 23, 1938, Mrs. Ackenback was the daughter of Ray L. and Martha Hillenburg Murphy. She married Charles E. Ackenback Sr., Nov. 28, 1958. Survivors include her husband; her mother, of Seymour; sons, Charles E. (Patty) Ackenback of Seymour and Jay Ackenback of Columbus; daughters, Kimberly (Bill) Garrison of Uniontown and Tammy Bell of Seymour; a sister, Kathy (Ralph) Coryea of Seymour; grandchildren, Jeff Ackenback, Amber (Ben) Amick, Jennifer (Crandall) Thomson, Michael Cheek, Shawn Ackenback, Shelby Judge, Amanda Bell, Rachael Bell, Jayson Ackenback, Brandin Ackenback and Derek Ackenback; great-grandchildren, Jaylynn Ackenback, Desiree Ackenback and another great-grandchild due in December; in-laws, Bonnie Overfelt of Columbus, Carol (Mike) Lewis of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Dorene Breland of Mobile, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her father on May 10, 1998. Funeral Information VISITATION: Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday June 28, 2009 and from noon until service time Monday. FUNERAL: The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2009 at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Shane Rocker officiating. BURIAL: Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
