Esther Amy Compton August 20, 1930 - May 02, 2009 Esther A. Compton, age 78, passed away on Saturday, May 2 at the Brown County Nursing Home. Born August 20, 1930, in Corydon, Indiana, she was the daughter of The Reverend William F. and Lulu (Burk) Wallace. A medical records transcriptionist, she worked at both Bloomington Hospital and Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. She also worked at hospitals in New Jersey and Arizona. She served as a Vice-President of the Library Board of Cherry Hill, New Jersey public library system and was a published poet. She was an avid reader including the areas of the medical field, astronomy, archeology, history and countless others. Survivors include; a sister, Martha Etter of Fort Wayne, two sons; Bradley A. Compton of Oklahoma City, OK., and Wade S. Compton of Nashville, Indiana, and two grandchildren; Christina and Joshua Compton. She was proceeded in death by her son, Lewis W. Compton, and six siblings; William F. Wallace Jr., Ruth K. Handy, Joseph B. Wallace, Mary E. Elkins, Luther Wallace, and Rachel R. Kane. At the time of her death, she was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church of Bloomington and a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Ellettsville. Funeral Information MEMORIAL SERVICE: A memorial service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday, May 31, 2009 at Nashville United Methodist Church with Pastor Wade S. Compton officiating. INURNMENT: Monday, June 1, 2009 at 12:00 p.m. at Presbyterian Cemetery in Ellettsville, Indiana.
