James Marshall Havron September 06, 1924 - January 10, 2009 James Marshall Havron, 84, of Jolinda Drive died at 12:32 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009, at Hoosier Christian Village in Brownstown. Mr. Havron lived most of his life in Columbus and spent winters in Florida. He retired from Courier-Newsom Trucking. He served in the Pacific with the Marine Corps during World War II. Born in Columbus Sept. 6, 1924, Mr. Havron was the son of Clyde C. and Margaret Koehler Havron. He first married Ruby Robertson and later married Anona Richardson. Both preceded him in death. Surviving are daughters, Beverly (Robert) Raatz of Cincinnati and Diana (David) Newton of Dayton, Ohio; a brother, John L. (Wildena) Havron of Seymour; grandchildren, Bobby Havron, Robby Havron, Jennifer Duncan, December Hendrickson and Nathan Hendrickson, all of Bloomington, Terri Mages of Guilford, James Havron and Ashley Raatz, both of Cincinnati, Christopher Newton of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Meghan Newton of Xenia, Ohio; and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wives; his parents; a daughter, Carol Hendrickson; a half brother, the Rev. Lester Havron; and a sister, Mary K. Fletcher. Funeral Information VISITATION: Saturday, January 17, 2009 from noon until the time of service at Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home. MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home.   1. “Jimmy” Havron was my first husband, Jim McCord’s cousin, the son of Jim’s Aunt Maggie. Jim said that he joined the Marines because his cousin Jimmy had come home on leave wearing his uniform and all gung-ho over being a Marine. I don’t know where Jimmie served in the Pacific, but Jim was wounded in the battle for Iwo Jima, and served in the clean-up of Guam. For a while Jimmie lived with his mother, Maggie, in a little apartment adjoining Jim’s mother Laura’s home. The two Jim’s always enjoyed getting together.
