Helen Baker April 06, 1929 - December 25, 2008 Helen Baker, 79, of Pennsylvania Street in Columbus, Indiana died at 5:20 a.m. Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Helen was part owner of Bakers T.V. and appliances. She also had worked at North High School cafeteria, Lemleys, Standard Grocery and Cummins cafeteria. Helen played college basketball at Del Mar College. She also played softball and was a girls slow pitch softball coach. She was also a Girl Scout leader. Mrs. Baker was born April 6, 1929 in Berclair, Texas, the daughter of Mable Towles Vallee. She married Robert L. Baker March 6,1952. Survivors include her husband; a son, Robert (Sue) Baker Jr. of Columbus, Ind.; daughters, Robin Baker and Patti Taylor, both of Columbus, Ind.; a brother, Casey (Sue) Vallee of Wisconsin; grandchil-dren, Nicole Brown, Derek Baker, Kendra Taylor and Brandon Taylor; a great-grandchild, Rylan Brown; and a son-in-law, Ken Taylor of Columbus, Ind. She was preceded in death by her mother; and a sister, Carolyn Mullins. Funeral Information FUNERAL: Will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2008, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating.
