Frank Bunton July 01, 1916 - October 28, 2008 Frank Bunton, 92, of Kyte Street died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2008, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Bunton was a member of Free Methodist Church and was assistant Sunday school teacher for 3- and 5-year-olds for many years. A clown for more than 50 years, he was known as Singing Sam the Silly Man, and also was a magician, Frank the Fakir. He was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Magicians, FCMA and the Clowns of America International. He had been Scout Master for Troop 100 and assistant Scout Master with Troop 550. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea, serving on the USS Arizona from 1936 to 1939 and on the USS Brooks from 1939 to 1944. He was on the swimming and wrestling teams on the USS Arizona and on the basketball and baseball teams on the USS Brooks. He was discharged from the Navy in 1956. Born July 1, 1916 in Ewing, Indiana, Mr. Bunton was the son of Willis P. and Millie Harvey Bunton. He married Jean Marie Fullen Aug. 23, 1945. Survivors include a son, Frank N. Bunton of Columbus; a daughter, Normajean Bunton of Bloomington; grandchildren, Michelle Tungate and Andrew Bunton, both of Columbus, and Amy Warf of Reidsville, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Morgan, Hunter and Mitchell Tungate and Jason and Lori Warf. Funeral Information VISITATION: Friday, October 31, 2008 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Jewell - Rittman Family Funeral Home and also Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Free Methodist Church. FUNERAL: Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Free Methodist Church, 1511 22nd Street, Columbus, IN 47203.
