Maria C. Priddis March 21, 1943 - September 03, 2008 Maria Carol Priddis, 65, died peacefully at 6:37pm Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at Hospice of South Central Indiana after a decade-long battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Maria was born March 21, 1943 in Cambridge, England, spending her childhood in Czechoslovakia, England, and as a resident of Port Of Spain, Trinidad. Following her education in England she began her working career as a secretary in London, and after her marriage to John and their subsequent emigration to the United States in 1965, she focused her energies as a wife, homemaker and mother to two daughters, Michelle and Marissa. She was an active volunteer in the community, devoting time to teachers at Richards & Fodrea Elementary Schools, as a founding member of the Cosmopolitan Club (a Columbus organization for foreign-born women), as a Girl Scout leader, a golf mom, a volunteer at Garland Brook Cemetery and later in the American Cancer Societys Relay for Life. Maria is survived by her husband of 43 years, John Priddis, Columbus; daughter and son-in-law Michelle and Don Davis, Columbus; and Marissa Priddis, Mount Vernon, Ind., as well as relatives in England, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and the Czech Republic. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Vaclav Macak. Funeral Information FUNERAL: A private family service is being held at a later date.
